Olivia's new brother Henry arrived last week. He's smaller than I am.

Evan es uno!

I went to my friend Evan's birthday party on Sunday. Evan and his dog Shakespeare have a sweet apartment with a great deck out the back... I guess his parents must live there too.

Evan is one year old, and that's twice as old as me. At the party, his deft standing and solid food eating skills were on display for guests; while I showed off a few tricks of my own, including sitting up unaided. I wonder what it must be like to be that old; a whole year. _MG_6753.png

I went to the doctor on Monday and got some great news; I'm cleared to start eating solid foods! When she told me to go ahead and knock myself out— I took that to mean: We're stopping at Johnny Mack's on the way home to hook me up with a Black Angus Burger topped with blu cheese & bacon, order of fries, a side of buffalo wings, and a Diet Coke to wash it all down! Remember you're talking to a guy with two teeth here, I'm totally ready.

You can imagine my disappointment upon arriving home only to have my mother present me with a bowl of mushy, room-temperature rice-cereal... Seriously, can I at least get a little salt with this stuff?

Thanks for everything mom.

And a happy Mother's Day to my two grandmothers and my three great grandmothers.

My first wedding

On Saturday I went to my first wedding. My mother's friend Evgenia (originally from St. Petersburg) married Peter (originally from Poland) in a tri-lingual (Russian-Polish-English) Russian Orthodox ceremony held at Cathedral of the Transfiguration.

Now I would tell you the ceremony was lovely; but I got bored, made a bit of a fuss, and my dad and I walked across the street to the dog park. The dogs were quite mesmerizing.

Travels

Those of you who'd like to keep tabs on Phil and Jeni's nine-week trip from New York to Sydney, may do so with the website they're updating from the road.

Today I went to my friend Olivia's birthday party in Brooklyn Bridge Park. There was cake, balloons, "Music for Aardvarks and Other Mammals" and a donkey had several tails pinned on it. I slept through most of it.

Not quite the Sopranos, but we managed to get my dad's family together for dinner in Brooklyn. My aunt Mary wasn't there because she had to work, but we saved her a slice for later. Next time Aunt Mary!_MG_6405.pngWe went to Two Boots in Park Slope. From the review: "Looks like a birthday party on steroids. Kids love the tabletop crayons and coloring books, but the real crowd-pleaser is raw pizza dough- lumps are available at the open kitchen window."

I have no idea what a "steroids" is, I'm too young to play with crayons and my parents wouldn't let me dive into any raw pizza dough. I did, however dig the colored lights.

_MG_6320.pngMy aunt Sarah was in town this week. She's a new attorney, so she asked for some pointers on how to conduct more effective depositions.

Simple, I said... There's no secret, it's all in the preparation. A deposition is evidence given under oath and recorded for use in court at a later date. In US judicial proceedings, the procedure for taking depositions is set forth in Rule 30 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and corresponding provisions in states which have adopted the Federal Rules.

Then I told her "remember to just go out there and have fun with it!"_MG_6356.png
